MSNBC wants to be taken seriously but makes it incredibly hard when they, for example, have convention coverage featuring Rachel Maddow as the lead ‘journalist’ on set. Adding commentary from self admitted socialist Lawrence O’Donnell, Al Sharpton and some other leftist guy who looks and thinks like he’s in middle-school doesn’t help either. One guest on the network pointed out the blatant bias, and in the process earned some praise from Glenn who had been lamenting the loss of any "good Democrats".
Responding to another panelist’s assertion that it would be “political malpractice” not to “milk” the death of Osama bin Laden at the DNC, Jeremy Scahill responded: “But many of the media discussions, including here on MSNBC, about foreign policy during the convention felt like we were watching an Obama for America meet-up, not an actual serious critique of this president’s most egregious aspects of his foreign policy– where you do see that of the Republicans.”He continued: “There’s all of this going after Romney, and I think that’s completely legitimate — but some of the core issues of this president’s national security policy are not being debated. And I’m sorry, but watching John Kerry and Joseph Biden criticizing the war in Iraq? They voted for the war in Iraq… There’s revisionism; there’s jingoism…”
